Progamme Flyer: August 2018

To all members

Daffodil Rally for Cancer – Sunday 26 August: This event, organised by the Vintage Car Club is one of many cancer awareness activities throughout the country in August. The VCC’s Wellington area event will be a car display open to all clubs and car enthusiasts, to be held from 10am to 3pm at Queen Elizabeth Park, Paekakariki (North entrance off SH1). The club will be participating and we hope to see you there – look out for the Peugeot flag. There is a $5 minimum donation per car, with all proceeds to the Cancer Society.
If you are likely to attend, please contact the Secretary in advance so we can prepare a window display card presenting details of your particular model Peugeot.

Pot-luck Supper and Quiz Night – Saturday 8 September: This will be held at the home of Susan and Frans Weehuizen,(our Club president) at 76 Waddington Drive, Naenae from 7.30pm. Quiz questions have been prepared by Suzanne Jackett, so we just need you and your contribution to supper for a fun evening.

Technical Afternoon – We are hoping to arrange another of these Saturday afternoon sessions shortly for those with a mechanical bent – details to be confirmed.

Novelty Run – Sunday 7 October: We have arranged for a novelty drive, commencing at the Settlers Museum, Petone. More details in the next Flyer!

Anniversary Weekend – 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the launch of the 504, along with the 70th for the 203 & 80th of the 202. To mark the occasion Sven Slager with Don Howarth are organising a celebratory rally to be held in Taranaki from 16-18 November. If you drive one of these models, or would just like to participate, drop Sven an email at sven@slager.co.nz or phone 027 769 5919. (The Friday is nominally a day of travel to Taranaki, with an informal get together.). Another date for the calendar.

Also this year, we expect to hold a grass gymkhana event, nominally on 4 November, as well as the end-off year dinner, so there is lots to look forward to. We hope to meet up with you at one or more of these activities as the year progresses.
