June Programme Flyer

To all members

ANNUAL ECONOMY DRIVE – Sunday 30 June: A reminder – we will be going over the hill for this year’s drive, with Masterton as our destination. The event is self starting (at your local service station to tank up) and will end at the Z station on SH2,’ aka’ Chapel Street in Masterton about 2.45 to 3pm. We will then move on to Entice Cafe (open till 4pm) at 6/8 Dixon Street, near the Queen Elizabeth Park. An entry form is attached. Contact the Secretary if you need a map.
The important information to note is your starting mileage! In our event, we match your economy with the best for your particular model, and then compare it with the other results, so the fuel hungry models can compete with those more frugal. The club’s Ian McIvor Memorial Trophy is at stake with this event.

MID-WINTER DINNER – Saturday 13 July: Our venue is the GoodWorld Chinese Restaurant, 98 High Street, Lower Hutt, meeting at 7pm. Please RSVP to the Secretary before 10 July so we can confirm numbers attending with the restaurant.

44th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – Tuesday 23 July: An Agenda for this important meeting is enclosed with this flyer. We hope you will take the time to attend if at all possible.

Anniversary Rally for the 404. In 2010 Sven Slager and Tony Haycock organised a highly successful 50th anniversary run for owners of the 404, with about 20 cars participating in a run from Picton to Akaroa near Christchurch. Sven now advises he is looking towards a 60th anniversary run in 2020 and hopes he can attract an equally impressive entry of 404s with a run circulating the central North Island. A suggested Tour de la Nouvelle-Zélandé is the loop – New Plymouth-Taumarunui- Cambridge- Taupo- Napier-Masterton- Whanganui- New Plymouth, to be held possibly next March. Sven is keen to hear from fellow 404 owners on their thoughts and interest in such a run. It is thought desirable for there to be local organisers familiar with their region to input into the overall programme. Contact Sven at 027 769 5919 or email

The order for polo shirts has been placed, and we hope to have them to hand in about 10 days. We will be in touch over payment/delivery etc.
