ANNUAL CONCOURS EVENT - Sunday 30 November 2008
Paul Wilson has again agreed to act as host for this ‘Pride of Ownership’ polish up the car event to be held in his extensive garden with plenty of parking for all at 15 Matai Road (off Poplar Avenue), Raumati South, commencing at 2pm. The BBQ will be fired up for those who would like to stay and enjoy a sizzle. Check with the Secretary if the weather is in doubt – it is often better up there than in the city.
2009 INTERCLUB MEETING A.K.A. The Peugeot National Rally – 6-8 February 2009
will be based at Hawera, Taranaki. The bi-annual interclub meet with members of the Auckland club has Brian & Alex Coxhead as the local organisers. They gave us a great time in 2007. The Auckland Club is the host club this time. We hope you will put this in your calendar now. Some accommodation has already been reserved at the Furlong Motor Inn. Please let the Secretary know if you are likely to attend and would like to use the reserved accommodation – first in first served! The local organiser’s would like to get some idea of numbers as early as possible.
Please also note the date correction above. Waitangi Day is a Friday, not a Monday in 2009.
NEWS
The Committee is please to advise members that the position of Club Patron has been offered to and accepted by Ken Mills of Dannevirke. As well as being a Peugeot enthusiast and long time member of the club, Ken was also for many years the face of Peugeot in that region, being the local Peugeot dealer in that rural community. We will include a profile of Ken in the next issue of Peugeot Torque.
2008 subscriptions have been flowing in at a steady rate and to date about 60% have been received. Can we include a reminder to the 40% who have not done so yet! We have a mystery – a sub of $39 was paid directly into our bank account, we think over the counter on 22 October. As there is no detail given on our statement regarding the payee we would like to hear from that member, so we can credit them with payment. This was NOT electronic banking!
